Sunday: Tigers vs. Phillies

Officially, Magglio Ordonez is day-to-day with a left hamstring spasm he suffered Saturday morning. Unofficially, according to manager Jim Leyland, “He’s fine.”

Likewise, Ordonez indicated it’s nothing serious and isn’t particularly worried about it. He took fly balls during batting practice Sunday, but was held out of Sunday’s game against the Phillies as a precaution.
Also, Leyland said Brennan Boesch (back) wanted to play today, but will get the game off.

My assessment so far this spring. Pitching I feel has been pretty darn good, but with the exception of a few, the guys we are really counting on to hit have been poor? Even today Dickerson and Price are even starting to wonder where the bats are. I need to start seeing something soon

Don’t they usually say the pitchers are ahead of the batters this early in the spring? Let’s hope Tiger hitters are saving some for the regular season.

Well, the Phillies certainly sent their B team. Young ones still trying to get someones attention or make the team. Still, their pitching sure seemed to stifle us for awhile.
OK, Rich, we know you were at the game and got to enjoy that sunny weather. Lucky!!!! The Tigers are used to all that warm weather. It’s still free freezing here in MI.
