Thursday: Tigers vs. White Sox

Remember when Freddy Garcia used to rule in day games? When former Tigers manager Alan Trammell used to dread “Day Game Freddy”? For whatever reason, that hasn’t been the case this year. He’s 50-22 with a 3.77 ERA for his career in day games, but he’s 2-3 with a 5.89 ERA in seven afternoon starts this year. Granted, one of those starts was a July 24 disaster at Oakland, with five runs, six hits, three walks and just four outs.

I think it has more to do with Garcia dominating Detroit than day games. Well, we had him for a minute.
About the same lineup, I see. Just keep throwing it out there. It’s bound to work. It’s GOT to. Right?
Huskie, throw my 83-79 prediction out the window. That was predicated on the assumption that we’d stick close to Chicago and Minnesota. Since that hasn’t happened, it’s all downhill from here. We’ve seen this movie before.

Leyland brings new meaning to the words stubborn and arrogant.
Laird against Garcia? Bring up Max St. Pierre.
JL is a man without a vision. He is dragging his team down with him. 5 years of this crap is too much to stomach for the good fans of Detroit.

Oh goody, Boesch in the 5-hole again. Just how bad does his slump have to get for him to move out of there? He is hitting something like .087 since the break…does he have to go on an 0-62 streak before being removed? Or sent down? Or something?

The official scorer must like Brennan giving him a hit on that tailor made DP that was botched.
