Cabrera scratched from Tigers lineup

Apparently Cabrera came down with back tightness during batting practice or early work. He was in the original lineup, so something happened. The resulting ripple effect shifts Ramon Santiago to the second spot, Johnny Damon to third and Magglio Ordonez at cleanup. Don Kelly gets the start at first base and bats ninth.

Friday: Tigers vs. Mariners

Nothing really out of the ordinary with this lineup, especially with a right-handed pitcher on the mound. It will be interesting to see what impact having Cabrera in the lineup makes for the Tigers offense against Seattle’s pitching staff, which didn’t have to face Cabrera during their two-game series at Safeco Field back in May.
