Monday: Tigers at Twins

What was expected to be a day off for Carlos Guillen is actually a day at DH. Jim Leyland decided to keep Guillen in the lineup, but will get him a day out of the field.

P: Francisco Liriano

Look Dan, Raburn at second and Guillen at DH.
Poor Bonderman draws Liriano tonight and Cliff Lee on Sunday. The best two win pitcher in baseball, Jeremy Bonderman.

A lineup I can live with. Looking forward to Carlos catching fire along with his countrymen. MCab still reaching (often not quite) more than I remember him doing before. Ofrdonez ha scooled lately too.
Be interesting to see if Bonderman is able to get a little more velocity going for him tonight. I personally don’t care for JB but when he is on he is devastating. One of the best sliders around a couple of years ago. Seems to be getting it back nicely..
Glad we don’t have in dugout fights going on like we have seen with Tampa, Cubs and Brewers.
Hoping against hope that we see the Tigrs evolve into something important this series against the Twins. Not sure if I mentioned this but we sure took a lot of guff from the Met and Braves announcers re our outfield defense and overall defense. They were openly critical.
More of that problem coming with Wilkin Ramirez. Caspar Wells is fine, but he’s not hitting with authority. They will want a RHB OF next year and among Wells, Ramirez and Strieby my guess is they would prefer Wells. Ramirez can hit and run though. He’s a diamond in the rough. Can’t discount what Jeff Frazier has done down there either. He’s been playing a ot of 1st though. Interesting in that larish has played little OF but has played a lot of 3B. His bat has come around a bit.
Anone hear if Sizemore is injured? Been out of the lineup.
Raburn and Laird had difficult games in Minny last year—especially game 163 (still hard to believe how bad the Tigers were down the stretch-that includes some real questionable managerial decisions). Be cool to see them come up big today against Liriano who will be tough on us.
