Wednesday: Tigers at White Sox

Magglio Ordonez could’ve been in the starting lineup, Jim Leyland said today, but he decided to sit him one more day with an eye towards Thursday. He didn’t feel comfortable with the idea of playing Magglio both Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon with the quick turnaround, and if he had to choose one or the other, he opted for Thursday against White Sox left-hander John Danks. He’s 14-for-23 (.609) off Danks with four doubles and two home runs, compared with 14-for-47 (.298) with six doubles off Wednesday’s starter, Freddy Garcia.

Ryan Raburn gets the start in the third spot again, playing in left field. Danny Worth, meanwhile, gets his first start at shortstop, batting ninth.

He lost it. Take him out of the game.
The defense is not helping him

Ka-Boesch! again!

We have to come up with a better name than Boeschey. The kid is fast becoming a freak and pure entertainment.
He is one player JL has managed well – telling everyone to leave him alone!!

I wonder if JL gave Ryan any warning he was going to play tonight. For his own good whilst he is still fragile and concerned for his future, I would have given him the least amount of preparation time available and stop him able to think about it.

Feeling kinda down, depressed? Never fear, the Tigers are here to help you feel better. OMG!

Time for Ricky to visit Toledo!

Holy crap. Porcello has everybody hitting fly balls off him lately. This has been a disturbing trend the last few games. he seems a long way from the the way he was at the end of the year last year. It’s a shame.
Raburn looks lost out there in LF. The ball down the line earlier he dove at and I swear he didn’t know where the ball was, he just put a theatric slide on anyway.
Wonder if he wis watching what Pierre is doing.
Not blaming Raburn for this fiasco—just an observation.
I’ll make a 3rd baseman out of him yet!
Hate to see these less than stellar hitters light us up and get ol Hawk’s mouth runnin’.

My numbers for Ordonez vs Garcia were supposedly from the past five years only.
Anyway……..WHY does Leyland wait so long to lift Porcello? I didn’t see the point of that. Too late. Looks like they should go ahead and let Bonine slip into this spot in the rotation and bring up one of those Toledo relief hotshots. Porcello needs to work on his arm slot and all that.

That’s an idea I shared a bit too. I do think you almost have to go with Porcello a little longer. It is up to Knapp to get him straightened out. He’s just not getting the ball down, so it has to be mechanical.
Let him know he’s got 1 or 2 starts to figure it here or figure it ou in Toledo.
Bonine deserves a chance if they do something radical with Porcello. I would hate to see them try to fit a round peg into a square hole. i.e. Figaro into a MLB rotation.
Another starting pitcher making us look silly. It’s been happening alll year. even when we are winning really.

Mr. Dombrowski, maybe the next player you put on waivers should be manager Jim Leyland.

How many more times are you going to allow JL to mis-manage a pretty good team?

How many more times are you going to allow JL to ruin the confidence of his pitchers by keeping them in to long? What ever happened to our last great manager Sparky Anderson aka. Captain Hook?

How many more times are you going to allow JL to complain about his lineup yet he starts 4 players batting under a 220 avg.?

Please Mr. Dombrowski – New york and Los Angeles have never accepted mediocrity why should Detroit?

With Perry having thrown a full one innings for June, surely this would have been the time to use him after Eddie.

UGLIEST GAME OF THE YEAR – against the worst hitting team that we have played this year. Who knew.
What has really pissed me off tonight though is the coaching staff of the Tigers. Ultimately you have to blame it on the players tonight specifically the pitchers. But when Procello was getting rocked – once Avila went out there and that is when he was mixed up on pitches. Not Knapp nor Leyland got up off there butts to at least give the kid a breather and or give Bonine more time to heat up. NO ONE WENT OUT THERE NOT ONE AND NOT AT ALL!!! What are they trying to prove – is it some soret of twisted teaching lesson or is it pure laziness on their part. I kept on saying surely they will go out now. What a bunch of tools – that was pitiful pitching and pitiful coaching and managing. I knew that Bonine was toast, whey didn’t he???
Porcello needs to go down – he has had maybe 3 or 4 good outings all year and has to get his crap together – and it is appearent that he isn’t learning up here.
Nothing like Tigers pitching to perk up your offense.

Dombrowski will make a trade, His team needs a big change and he needs to keep his job. He has been screwing up big time with bad contracts for bad players.
Even Illitch has his limits.

It’s the predictablility that’s killing me. Maybe I watch too much baseball or maybe it comes from Leyland, but I’m getting no enjoyment from watching this stuff. Scherzer vs Danks tomorrow is a no-brainer.
If this team doesn’t assert itself at home this weekend against Pittsburgh, I’ll need to find something else to do.
Can you imagine where we’d be if Boesch hadn’t unexpectantly come along?
