Tuesday: Tigers vs. Yankees

The rain is coming down at Comerica Park as of 5:45pm ET, but the forecast still calls for the rain to lighten up this evening. It’s just a matter of how soon. If it’s early enough, they’re going to play.

It’s an interesting situation for the Tigers, who are down three relievers (Thomas, Bonine, Zumaya) after Monday’s bullpen start. Ideally, they could throw Dontrelle Willis in this game after he missed Monday’s start, but he’s still sick enough that he isn’t at the park. An on-time start and then a rain delay that knocks out the starters is not ideal at all for Detroit, so I imagine they’re going to wait until they’re reasonably sure the rain is out of the picture.

Is it really necessary to postpone the game or are we doing a Chicago White Sox thing here? The radar shows the rain gone by 8 PM. Is it that bad up there? Are we getting our pitching back in order?

Oh well, I’ve got a DVR stacked with programming, or I can watch the Nationals play the Mets. My wife suggested I go back to work. :-)

Maybe the rain stopped, but we got drenched for the past 12 hours or so. It is miserably cold, wet and a little windy. My furnace has been on several times today and even my dog balked at going out until it was absolutely necessary.
