Tigers set Opening Day lineup

Kauffman Stadium.jpgThe lineup for Monday is now set. Gerald Laird will bat seventh, with rookie Scott Sizemore batting eighth, resolving the one remaining question. So the lineup against Zack Greinke will look like this:

  1. Austin Jackson, CF
  2. Johnny Damon, LF
  3. Magglio Ordonez, RF
  4. Miguel Cabrera, 1B
  5. Carlos Guillen, DH
  6. Brandon Inge, 3B
  7. Gerald Laird, C
  8. Scott Sizemore, 2B
  9. Adam Everett, SS

Jim Leyland also said that he’ll make at least one adjustment for the second game of the season: Ramon Santiago will start at shortstop for that game Wednesday night against Luke Hochevar.

All three stooges in the same lineup vs a RHP?
Here we go again.
Everett had 247 plate appearances vs RHP’s in 2009.
That’s about 240 managerial errors.

These are your 2010 Tigers. Flawed, yes. But I will be rooting the whole year. Some have already posted negative comments, 24 hours before the first pitch. Sad. This is the best time of the year. Too bad MLB ruined opening night with a Yanks-Sox game.

1 run off Grienke is not enough before he settles into a groove.
Inge looks at a called 3rd strike. Would have been nice to see AJ get his 1st hit there on that soft liner. Betancourt worked JV hard for that 2 run homer. These guys need to work the pitch count deeper or Grienke will pitch a complete game.

For some odd reason I said yes to a meeting after work, not realizing I could have just gone home and actually watched the game. So my one and only game time post – yes Maggs! Didn’t see it, but way to start the season – and I have no problem scoring on an error!

Let’s go boys!
