Wednesday: Tigers vs. Twins

Magglio gets a day at DH, but he says he’s fine. Aubrey Huff is out of the lineup tonight. So far as I know, he’s not hurt.

  1. Curtis Granderson, CF
  2. Placido Polanco, 2B
  3. Clete Thomas, RF
  4. Miguel Cabrera, 1B
  5. Magglio Ordonez, DH
  6. Carlos Guillen, LF
  7. Brandon Inge, 3B
  8. Alex Avila, C
  9. Ramon Santiago, SS

P: Eddie Bonine

  1. Denard Span, CF
  2. Orlando Cabrera, SS
  3. Joe Mauer, C
  4. Jason Kubel, RF
  5. Michael Cuddyer, 1B
  6. Delmon Young, LF
  7. Jose Morales, DH
  8. Matt Tolbert, 3B
  9. Nick Punto, 2B

P: Carl Pavano

Pavano has been on borrowed time and definitely does not deserve to go into the Tig record books of a 5 loss season. Tonight is the night!!
I hope Clete goes well – I wont forget that selfless run down into the wall for quite a while.

I like this lineup. Good job, Jim. Ordonez won’t need to be lifted for defense so he’s in there all night, hitting behind Cabrera. Perfect. That makes Thomas in the 3-hole work too, and Raburn is always there to come in later.
This lineup………….works!

Wow Rich I cannot remember the last time you liked a lineup (me included in that)????? I like it too.

Granderson screwed up again. Not a great start

Come on Tigers you need to show Pavano what kind of a pitcher he really is here. The kind of pitchers others have known all season. He is a fraud.

I’d like to see Cabrera-Ordonez-Guillen at 3-4-5, but I guess logic will never prevail…

Pavano has no pace and no movement. If they have patience laying off his many balls, he will go down big time.

Huge innings, didn’t quite drive the nail into the Pavano coffin though.

Man what a leap by Polly – the guys are looking cool under pressure.

Man, stop swinging at balls!!

Man that 4th was frustrating – laying off the strikes and swinging at the balls. Pavano was sharper though.

The 5th, just huge – great aggresive management with the bunt, Polly being Polly, a great walk by sClete and Maggs just huge!!

That behind the back diving collect and throw by Punto on the Ramon hustle was just an amazing play that thankfully wasn’t in time. These Twinkies have to be the best in the league for plays.

That’s the real Magglio!

Well, you sure don’t need to be a brain surgeon to know enough to keep Magglio in the lineup. Nuf said!

Maggs now .3 for the season with that 3 run hit. Beautiful way to bring it up.

Miner was good and Lyon back to his superb best. Surprised JL brought Miner back for the 8th bringing his pitch count up from 27 to 45.

3 game lead. Oh, man, we are so close. Dear God in heaven, please let Nate lead us to a victory tomorrow.

Go Tigers!!!

A fantastic win!! 3 games now without a Twinky homer is huge!!

WOW do you believe that we finally hit Cy Pavano???? DID YOU THINK THAT IT WOULD EVER HAPPEN??? Congrats to Bonine he hung in there after a disappointing first inning. Inge, Ordonez and Santiago come through with some big hits.

DEPRESSED CANNOT WATCH TOMORROWS GAME. Will be stressed all day long.

I just know you all missed me not commenting during the game but I watched it on ESPN, not at the computer. LOL. This was an absolutely fabulous victory! Now they can’t let down. They need to go for the kill. Robertson had some success against the Twins last time. The Tigers have had some success against Baker. Don’t let the Twins get back up now that they are 3 down. ROAR Tigers!!!
