Tuesday: Tigers at Red Sox

fenway.jpgIf there’s a left-handed hitter on the Tigers positional roster, he’s in the lineup tonight against Junichi Tazawa. That includes switch-hitting Ramon Santiago, whom Leyland did not want to pinch-hit against Ramon Ramirez last night (ok, enough on that).

Unbelievable Dan. We pick up Jack Squat and he’s not even in tonight’s lineup. What’s with that?
.
I do like the Left-Right-Left batting order though. Would hope that it forces Boston to burn more relief pitchers later in the game.

I really wanted to get a look at Jack Squat tonight as well, I have heard he is just the answer!!! HA HA
.
I did look at Tawaza (or whatever his name is) and it looks as though lefties hit him very well. Righties not so well. Those are his stats from the minors though. I don ‘t think that there are any Cabreras, Polancos or Ordonez’s in the minors though.

Here we go. bases loaded 1 out (thanks Curtis). Ya gotta get a guy home here against a rookike

That was brutal. 1st pitch swinging and it was an inning ending DP. Carlos has to have way more discipline than that in that situation

Well I am gonna complain again. if we can’t get better ABs from our 5th and 6th guys with the bases loaded then we need different 5th and 6th guys.

Man, one extra base hit and we could have blown the game open in the first.
Avila sure keeps his cool at the plate – disciplined so young.
Come on Rick – lets have a good outing!!

That was the very best inning I have ever seen Porcello pitch. That brush back of EMart was classic and showed me this Kid belongs here.

Well our big bat out of the lineup is not a good thing. I hope it is nothing serious. If it is a broken finger like Granderson had a last year – FOLKS WE ARE IN TROUBLE. THIS AINT GOOD.

That wasn’t smart hitting Youk so early – EJ on his last innings with none on , 2 outs is – leading off with none out isn’t. Hope Rick stays in the groove.

That appeared to me to be a BS call by the ump who is trying to take control of this game. Youkilis was the aggressor and the Boston rep has made the umps become part of this game when they shouldn’t.
.
So the Sox get the kid out who looked like he might command them and get to face a Lamb(ert).
.
Nice call ump.
.
We gotta get Curtis hitting.

No way Porcello is throwing at the leadoff hitter in the 2nd inning.
.
Umps were awful and gutless in that decision.

We got what we deserve retaliating and hitting Youk – you don’t play dumb when you are leading and have the other team on the ropes.
There is always a time and a place. JL just doesn’t have it against the top teams.
Can Rick now replace GMan??

What is Lambert doing above the rookie league?

If Leyland were sharp he would protest the ejection.

I guess this is one way to save porcello some innings, not really, this will kill our bullpen.

It is just not fair. A single, a homer and we are tied up. ^$*$(($)$)$))$ I am cussing right here.

Porcello thrown out for resisting to start a brawl—and now we’re tied. awesome.

If Galarraga is still sick tomorrow, I’d start Porcello again against Beckett. I don’t think he threw that many pitches. I’d start Porcello again even if Galarraga is well enough to pitch.

Ordoñez is back for good

Guillen and ordonez pound the ball with nobody on and both hit shoulda been DP balls when it really mattered with bases loaded.

And now introducing to the keep your bat on the shoulder club with 1 out and man on 3rd–the rookie, Alex Avila. I’m tellin’ ya’ it’s contagiously toxic.

A strikeout without a single strike

I can’t believe this. The umping is awful, the hitting is awful, guys going down on strikes. What is Inge doin on that AB? You know the guy is gonna throw the hook and you watch it?
.
I’m outta here—and by the way if Lambert is the best they have at Toledo then we have 2 years to wait for someone to replace Robertson, Bonderman and Willis.
.
If Lambert keeps pitching this way DD might sign him to a long term contract.

Bostons strike zone takes up my entire tv screen.

For what little my opinion counts, and having watches Youkilis over the years, he is hot-headed sob. You can almost wonder if what he did was deliberate to get Porcello off the mound to give the Red Sox a better chance at another pitcher. RP looked pretty sharp tonight. If this beanballing started last night, why wasn’t the Red Sox pitcher given a warning when he hit Cabrera. X-rays may show a broken bone and then the Tigers will lose Miguel.

amazing the difference in the strike zone. Just amazing. Especially since we were the ones to get the short end of the stick in the whole thing. We essentially lose two players and they lose one. Now they even have a better strike zone. God I am pissed right now.

Well I suppose we have to count on Seattle again tonight. This was lost as soon as Porcello was ejected.

The Tigers need a different writer. This script is too predictable. An unknown pitcher, get him on the ropes in the first inning, don’t score or score a few, then he gets his confidence, and the Tigers can’t hit him even if he threw beach balls. At least this one will be gone soon with his high pitch count.

Just got in and I can’t believe everything that has happened. OMG, I hope Miggiy is OK. Porcello thrown out of the game? Unbelievable! I’ll have to watch the replay after this game is over. I hate Boston. We gotta come back from this and win.

Now to add insult to injury, Youkilis replacement hits 2 homers off Porcello’s replacement. And they say life is not fair. Even the Red Sox radar showed the 2 pitches to Polanco were balls. Umpires. Are they being paid extra by the Red Sox for this game?

To me this game was lost after Porcello was ejected. And I agree Red Soxs must of paid these umpires extra this series to me there is no other explaination. And actually I am almost serious. Between the unever strike zone the last two nights and the ejections just cannot believe it. Seriously cannot believe what has gone on the last two nights.

Those may appear to be rain drops but they are in fact Kevin Youkilis’ tears. Crying over a takedown from a 20 year old kid.

The strike zone was crummy last night too imo. And I’m no expert but it was just so obvious the umps had a different strike zone for different teams. God, I can’t stand Boston.

You kill us is a bum. What a great trade off we get- Porcello for him! I would have preferred they’d lost their mascot for the game. What is he anyway, some kind of smelly sock? We lose our starting pitcher, they get an upgrade at 3rd. Had Rick been injured in that imbecilic rush of the mound I would have hoped that you kill us would have been suspended for….hmmm… how about the season. And then Miggy gets hit on the hand. Wow, a fixed game couldn’t be scripted any better.
