Guillen not rehabbing in Toledo just yet

Carlos Guillen has not yet had his rehab assignment moved to Triple-A Toledo, as was originally the organization’s hope for Monday. While Mud Hens officials haven’t heard anything on when Guillen might arrive, the best guess at this point is that he arrives later in the week once he gets a few more at-bats and gets any reported soreness of his shoulder.

Guillen began his rehab stint in Lakeland a week ago. He entered Monday batting 3-for-12 with a double and four walks, but all of those hits and walks came in three games Thursday through Saturday after starting out 0-for-6 with three strikeouts.

Okay……why would he be having soreness in his shoulder? It’s not like he had surgery.
I’m watching some other games plus hitting MLB Network off and on. The Yankees beat the Orioles, 2-1, by outhomering them, 2-1. Sound familiar? Meanwhile, the White Sox put their first two men on in the 6th but failed to score, and their fans booed as Fields K’d to end the inning. This is fun.

Sox 4 Rays 3, bottom of the 6th and the Sox get men on 1st and 3rd with none out, Dye up. He hits a foul pop about 10 feet beyond first which Carlos Pena doesn’t move for. Aybar sprints all the way from 2ndbase but fails to catch the ball. Given new life, Dye takes a huge cut and strikes out. Konerko follows and hits into a doubleplay. No runs. Man, they ALL do it! As Casey Stengel said, “can’t anybody here play this game?” Obviously, we’re not being chased by a superteam.

Thanks for the update, still hoping I can see him when he is in town, but leaving for the weekend so it looks unlikely.

heard on the radio that he has been recalled but not activated? what’s the story there?
