Raining in Chicago

Looks like this game should get played today, but it might be late. The same system that’s pouring on the Detroit area today is heading through Chicago first. And it’s probably going to clear out soon after the originally scheduled game time. Word is they’re looking at 2:45pm ET start. So much for that estimate. Rain hasn’t let up as of 3:05pm ET.

As far as the lineup goes, you’ll notice a day off for Magglio. He’s 6-for-21 against Gavin Floyd, for what that’s worth. Miguel Cabrera is the DH, with Ryan Raburn at 1B.

  1. Anderson, LF
  2. Raburn, 1B
  3. Thomas, RF
  4. Cabrera, DH
  5. Granderson, CF
  6. Inge, 3B
  7. Laird, C
  8. Santiago, 2B
  9. Everett, SS

P: Edwin Jackson

  1. Scott Podsednik, LF
  2. Alexei Ramirez, SS
  3. Jermaine Dye, RF
  4. Jim Thome, DH
  5. A.J. Pierzynski, C
  6. Gordon Beckham, 3B
  7. Brian Anderson, CF
  8. Chris Getz, 2B
  9. Josh Fields, 1B

P: Gavin Floyd

Hey Jason – any word on how Cabrera’s hamstring really is? The tv guys point out he still tends to grab his leg once in a while, do you think he is just playing through it? I just worry it is going to make for long term problems, but hope not, am guessing they know what they are doing.

It looks like that last rain cell has just stopped for over an hour now. How long will they wait it out?

I just looked at the radar i bet they don’t start the game until around 4:00… it should start clearing up in like 20 minutes or so…

They are cleaning off the field now so i expect them to start it up soon!

They’re expected to start around 5.
