I'm back, and so is Dontrelle

Dontrelle Willis won’t be activated until his start next Wednesday at Minnesota, but he rejoined the team Friday at Progressive Field, where he’ll work on the side with pitching coach Rick Knapp until his assignment. He talked a little bit about his pitching, a little bit about the social anxiety disorder, and a bit more about his approach coming into this situation. Look for more on the blog this evening. For now, here are the lineups:

I said that I would scream if I saw Raburn back in the lineup tonight so here is go SSSSCCCRRREEEAAAMMM!!!!!!!
.
By the way Rich I was also curious about Lloyd saying that Maggs had a bad batting average in the early part of his 2007 batting title campaign. Well it is true, but it seemed to have started to work itself out by the end of April last time. I looked up some old box scores. He was in the high 100’s and mid to low 200’s for a while but by this time that last year he was hovering in the low 300’s

Yeah, I remember the entire team hit poorly in April of 2007 but I didn’t think Maggs ended the month that low. Lloyd’s point is well taken though. That is, you’ll snap out of it, and him changing his approach last night probably won’t help.
.
All in all, this lineup doesn’t look like one that can score many runs. Raburn again.

not a real impressive line up. Would rather see anybody other then raburn in there and thomas isnt a number 3 hitter. Granderson or even moving cabrera up would be better i think well hopefully verlander has a good game
go tigers

At this point i’d rather see dontrelle in the lineup and in the field over raburn and his 1 for 16.
.
Why give laird tonight off when you just had an off day and you get another after this series? I guess it’s his 1 for 12 against lee, but i’d have to think he’d have a better shot at getting him than sardinha?

Seriously- Verlander has got to be pissed. Owell- here we go!

JL seems to like giving JV the toothless Tiger lineup on paper. Maybe he figures it brings out the best in him.
.
Inge, Polanco and Maggs have to get some days off. Stale quickly turns into slumps.
.
Gee, fancy that. Clete hit a LHPer. Hey JL, maybe our in form LH benchwarmers can hit LH as well as RH.
Sorry for the heavy hint of sarcasm but JL’s pig headed (gone way beyond thick skinned!!) is just crazy!!

Didn’t take long for ARod – 1st pitch 3 run homer.

Didn’t take long for Raburn to continue where he left of.

How many high fastballs are we going to swing at tonight?

Polly is sure putting up wierd batting stats: 0HR; 1TB; 13 2B and 17 1B. Almost as many doubles as singles yet no HR’s.

How did Maggs not get to 3rd on Inge’s hit? That would have been a run. This is shaping up to be a game we give the Indians.

6 guys on base in 4I with zip to show. No bunts or steal attempts.
Assuming JL would have wanted to, if Sardinha doesn’t know how to bunt hitting under 200 when we had one on, no outs, he shouldn’t be here regardless of how good he catches.

Thankfully JV looks like he is on another mission with a point to prove. His 6 SO’s thus far put him to 51 only 3 behind Greinke.

How many innings since the Tigers have scored?

Magglio needs to sit down- for real. This game is tough to watch. Brandon Inge is struggling so we have no offense to speak of.

19 zip innings thru 6 – last scored halfway thru the game where JL thru the names up in the air to decide the team and order.

Unless Miggs has a moment of brilliance, thankfully JV keeps powering on, although Grady was too close for comfort!!

Holy Smokes, Batman! Go Curtis!
