Bonderman feels fine after camp game
Jeremy Bonderman said he felt good after throwing 30 pitches in the Tigers camp game Saturday morning, putting him on track to return to regular game action next Thursday against the Braves and on schedule to be ready for Opening Day.
“Felt good,” Bonderman said. “No pain. Threw all my pitches.”
Bonderman faced six hitters from the Tigers’ Minor League camp during the outing. He gave up a couple doubles and had a pair of strikeouts. But the important part for him was how he felt as he threw his pitches, and how his previously sore shoulder will feel on Sunday.
“I don’t want to get carried away,” manager Jim Leyland said. “I was tickled to death today, but I want to be tickled to death tomorrow.”
Based on how Bonderman felt, he believes he’ll feel good.
“I’m going to be sore,” he predicted, “but it’s just going to be normal soreness.”
