Tickets go fast on first day of single-game sales

Just got the numbers from the Tigers, who sold 66,163 tickets as of 6pm Saturday, the first day single-game tickets went on sale. That’s the third-highest first-day total since Comerica Park opened in 2000, which is impressive given the state of the Michigan economy.

Those totals include tickets sold at the Comerica Park box office, where there were about 600 people in line when they opened at 10am, as well as online, by phone, and at Meijer stores. Opening Day sold out in little over an hour. Tickets are still available for other big games this season, including the series against the Cubs, Yankees and Red Sox.
