It’s official: He went on the 15-day DL today, and he isn’t likely coming off of it anytime soon. His exam yesterday revealed a blood clot in his axillary vein, according to the Tigers, due to something called thoracic outlet compression syndrome. A quick search on the web defines this as compression of the vessels and nerves between the neck and shoulder. He underwent an angioplasty this morning.
Look for Dontrelle Willis to take his spot in the rotation starting Sunday, with Armando Galarraga starting on Monday. Look for more on the site today. I’m off this weekend, so you’ll have to talk/grouse/discuss amongst yourselves.
