Rodney won't need surgery

That’s the opinion from Dr. James Andrews after examining Rodney this afternoon. He found no structural damage. In fact, he didn’t even feel comfortable doing exploratory surgery. He gave Rodney a cortisone shot and said he should be able to resume throwing in 3-5 days. Of course, now they have to start over again trying to figure out why he can’t seem to throw the ball off of a mound without pain.

Ahhh, you see? That’s what I was afraid of. Fernando, you got some ‘splainin’ to do.

So he’s feeling pain but there is no explanation?
Kinda like Cruceta’s Visa problemo. He can’t pitch but we don’t know why. Come to think of it, we don’t know why Grilli can’t pitch, either. Or Miner, or Bazardo, or…..

Interesting huh??? If one of the foremost experts can’t figure it out??

So watching the game last night was great. I was cheering by myself and clapping loud enough to hope the people in the apartments next to mine would hear me (as I knew the game would be on on almost everyone’s tv in Cleveland).

Galarraga pitched wonderful. That’s what it takes, someone to step up. I am looking forward to his next start. Maybe when Willis comes back, we stick Galarraga in the pen?? Then if we can get Cruceta going, that would be nice until Zoom comes back. As far as Rodney, I don’t except his return. Dead arm, done. I think our pen will be looking very nice come mid-season.
As far as Grilli, I have never been a basher of his nor a big fan. Although, since he is one of the boys I have always supported him. BUT, have you ever seen a pitcher on the mound that looks more confused and uncertain as him? jeez.

I also noticed something else last night when a few of the players batting stances. It seems to me at least, that Guillen doesn’t bend over as much this year, nor does he wave the bat above his head as much. Inge’s left leg is alittle more lined up with his right than last year and his bat is closer to his ear. Also, you can tell a big difference in MCab’s stance now compared to a week ago when his hammy was bothering him. Before his left leg was almost to third base and now it is lined up with the right – definitely will improve your power doing it the current way – kinda funny how the hits are coming now too, huh!?
With Polanco, I never thought I would say this, but he looks mentally beaten even before the first pitch is thrown to him, I have no idea what his problem is. And with IRod, he looks about the same as he did last year…

Anyway, great game last night. I am about ready to send a company wide email asking these people how the Indians did last night…ha ha ha..

GO TIGERS – let’s take another one from them tonight..

p.s. wasn’t I the one that said CC was over-rated last year?? Looks like he spent more time during the off-season throwing wadded up Big Mac wrappers in the trash than picking up a baseball. O-V-E-R R-A-T-E-D!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention one other thing. I think the J. Jones experiment is done already. Even though he didn’t play last night (and what does that tell you when JL puts in replacements but leaves him on the bench??) he has one of the worst swings I have ever seen. I say get rid of him and play Raburn in LF and have him ‘platoon’ with Thames from time to time. Clete has been fun to watch, but I think, when Willis comes back he will be the one that is sent down instead of Galarraga.

Everyone wants to know — where has Bazardo disappeared to?

Thanks in advance…

Nosferatu – anywhere but the BP in Detroit is fine with me at this point.

Hi All, I did a bit of research on Bazardo and according to mlb.com he is not currently associated with a team. I can’t find any release to determine if he was released or what happened, but it doesn’t seem that he’s currently playing for anyone. Here is the link to his player bio:

I guess it is a good question. I assume he is still designated for assignment, as the Tigers have 10 days before he clears waivers. So I guess no one has picked him up and can you really blame anyone for not doing so? We only acquired him about a year ago so I wouldn’t consider him as ‘one of the boys’ and isn’t pitching good anyway. Like I said above, as long as he isn’t in the BP, I don’t really care at this point.
