I know any news of soreness in Fernando Rodney’s shoulder, or any body part, is going to set off alarms, but at this point both Leyland and Rodney are making it sound like it’s a preventative step. He played catch today without problem and will stretch out his arm again tomorrow.

For those of you who emailed asking whatever happened to Scott Boras’ lawsuit against Gary Sheffield, it’s still going on. Sheff said this morning he’ll have to take off the 28th for Tampa to deal with that again.

"It’s probably personal with him," Sheffield said of Boras, "but when it’s done, it’s going to be personal to me. I’m going to warn everybody. Trust me, it ‘s going to be the ugliest thing you’ve ever seen. There are some people you don’t mess with, and I guarantee you I’m one of them."

Sheff missed part of Wednesday’s workout, but that was apparently a personal matter, not related to the lawsuit or his surgically repaired shoulder.
