Rogers changes agents, representing himself
An email sent out to major-league clubs a few hours ago stated that Kenny Rogers has dismissed Scott Boras as his representative and is now representing himself in talks with clubs. Tigers confirmed receiving the email. Not sure how this affects their situation as of yet, but considering Rogers’ remarks Thursday, it can’t be seen as bad news.
Story should be up shortly on MLB.com.

Wow, that’s a kick! This hot stove is hot already. I think more of these guys should represent themselves, especially the veterans. Schilling does. Anyway, this would sound like he and his agent are disagreeing on how to proceed. Very interesting news……….
Good for Kenny, and I’d bet the farm that an announcement regarding his return is imminent. Looks like Kenny didn’t have much time for Boras shopping while DD is letting a new name surface in the news every day about a replacement for Kenny. Both DD and Kenny want a deal done, and Boras wanted to milk the team for all it’s worth. He played the game too long this time.
I am so happy to hear this! What a great thing to know, it’s not always about how much money you can possibly make, but actually that it could be more about playing baseball for an organization you like. I can only hope more players dump this Boras creep.
Thanks, Kenny, for showing everyone your real character. See you in Lakeland!
Not only does this possibly look good for the Tigers, It really is a smart move on Kenny’s part. Realistically he is probably only going to pitch for one more year. Why not get what he wants and save all the money for himself.
