Regular lineup, progress for Bondo

It’s a regular-filled lineup this series. The only debate seemed to be Casey at first or Santiago at shortstop, and with Casey 3-for-21 off of Byrd, Leyland went with the Guillen/Santiago pairing.

  1. Granderson, CF
  2. Polanco, 2B
  3. Sheffield, DH
  4. Ordonez, RF
  5. Guillen, 1B
  6. Rodriguez, C
  7. Perez, LF
  8. Santiago, SS
  9. Inge, 3B

On the injury front, Jeremy Bonderman played catch today for the first time in about a week and was surprised to feel pain-free. It wasn’t a long session, but he stretched out his arm with some longer tosses to test out the arm and still felt fine. He’ll throw again tomorrow, and if he still feels good, he’ll start throwing off a mound. It at least raises the possibility that he could pitch in another game by season’s end. Even if that doesn’t happen, staying pain-free puts him on track for a healthy return next year and no recurring problems.
