Vance Wilson recalled from rehab

But not activated, a sign of a possible setback. He left in the sixth inning Thursday at Triple-A Toledo following three at-bats as the DH, but he also left in the seventh inning Wednesday following his fourth at-bat. He was scheduled to catch for five innings there Friday, but obviously that’s out.

If it is a setback, it would be a real shame. Here Vance is probably valued higher by this organization than anywhere he’s ever been before, and he gets stuck with this ongoing injury. Rabelo has done a creditable job replacing him, especially on the hitting side (I think pitchers unconsciously let up on him), but it’s Vance’s job. I hope it’s just a minor glitch in his rehab.

So, Cleveland gets the last place Reds, Minnesota gets the last place Nationals, and we get the first place Mets. So be it. The best team in their division is playing the best team in their division. I just hope the month of interleague play doesn’t turn the standings upside down, because there’s nothing equitable about the scheduling this year.
