Sorry Jason…this is not really a ‘bad’ thing. Grilli REALLY needs some time in Toledo. It’s not “early” anymore (june)…ERA near 8. That spells minors. Terrible.
Ai Yi Yi!!
I think the way things are going coupled with the recent injuries we can only hope for the best being about .500
The Bullpen is in tatters and that is without the recent injury bug. The starters are always a question mark, other than Verlander and Bonderman really.
Polanco may be down–yikes.
We’re hurtin’ boys but as far as I am concerned I am hoping the recent rash of injuries precipitates an acquisition or surpise from the farm that casts a ray of light on the situation.
Verlander threw really well–one mistake and he misses out on a victory. The guys need to provide more support than that, especialy for the the starters that have their nose in there every game.
If we get swept, at home, tomorrow, I think you will see some major changes.
I would say that Verlander wasn’t great, but he was fine. As annoyed as I got listening to those Fox announcers, he was right about one thing Justin threw too many pitches and walked too many batters. If he hadn’t left the game after the 6th maybe it would be a different story line today. The bull pen has not been dependable and unforntunately the starters are going to have to pick up some slack. Frankly none of the pitching has been consistent and it looks like it may even tank further if Robertson can’t figure it out.
