First readings on Zumaya
Those days of Joel Zumaya hitting 107 miles per hour on the radar gun at spring training are over. He topped out at 100 mph twice in the seventh inning and was more often at 97-99. No curveballs or changeups until the eighth inning.
By the way, after Zumaya hit 107 on Friday, Fernando Rodney said Zumaya joked that wanted to try to hit 110.

Disappointing performances today cost us. C-Mo, and Rodney throwing too many changups and not having finesse with 2 strikes on a hitter. I always worry about him hitting batters and sure enough he came in and hit Thomas with 2 strikes on him. Then sets up Glauss only to throw him a third change-up. This is where Pudge HAS to assert himself. He has to tell Rodney to waste a fastball in that position after Glauss looked bad on the two changes.
Well at least we know we have another 161 games left.
Bottom of 10 right now but it’s a tough road to how against BJ.
BTW
I thought the Blue Jays manager did a nice job today.
