Tuesday's aftermath
It wasn’t the fact that the Tigers lost to the White Sox, but the way they lost that stood out. There was really no momentum behind them, no chance you can look at and say they could’ve produced a big inning to get in it. On the flip side, even if Nate Robertson could’ve gotten Thome and ended the seventh unblemished, there’s no reason to think they would’ve taken off from there.
The Tigers played three close games against the White Sox and lost two of them they went to Chicago to face them last month. They have very little chance of beating the Sox in any given game unless their pitching comes through with a quality outing. They’ve been able to overcome poor starts on the rare days they’ve had them this season, but not against these guys.

I don’t think Soriano is the answer but we another big bat in the lineup now. When you have Omar Infante dh’ing, you know you have a problem (I don’t care if has good numbers agaisnt Garland or not).
And as much as I love Marcus Thames (I still want to see him locked up in a long term deal) at the moment, he should be DH’ing. I can’t count how many balls I’ve seen him misplay and/or bobble in the outfield. It hasn’t cost us much yet but down the stretch we are going to need better defense, all around the diamond.
VERY disappointing game. With the way Rogers has pitched lately, we need a win tonight or we will be swept. I still think Sunday’s game, with all the resting taking placing of the middle of our lineup, will come back to haunt us.
I agree with Jen on the DH situation. I do feel that Soriano is the answer though. We will not be swept even if we lose tonight (2-3 would be alot better of course). Bonderman has been on fire and doesn’t look like he is slowing anytime soon.
