Wednesday wrapup

As far as injuries go, Nate Robertson said he twisted his knee slightly on a big swing in the top of the seventh inning. He’s expected to be fine. While head athletic trainer Kevin Rand attended to him, Craig Monroe was dealing with tightness in his left quad suffered when he was legging out his third double of the afternoon. Between three doubles and playing center field, it’s not a surprise that he felt something running around that much after basically sitting for a week. He, too, says he’s fine.

It may not be acceptable to critique Jim Leyland but I would have pinh-hit with Pudge today rather than Polanco. Better home run potential and we only needed 1 run.
Geez, is Shelton ever struggling. You know that when you struggle, come out of it, and then immediately return to it. I don’t have the benefit of watching the games so can anyone tell me if he is trying to go long rather than trying for contact? On another note–I don’t expect we are going to see too much more of Inge leading off anymore.

Tigers have to cut down on their strikeouts. While we are winning games and whiffing at an accerlated rate they will eventually cost us a victory that is critical down the stretch.

The Tigers are going to make some mistakes down the road and some of them are going to be silly. Luckily, they have experience on the bench and in the front office.
I see Boston aquired Jason Johnson. I doubt they are preparing for the postseason yet but if they were it’s a good move.

The best thing that can happen to the Tigers would be that they pick up the offese similar to what the Chisox have done and attempt to intimidate a few teams in the upper tier of clubs. I don’t mean pitching at folks but simply, combining some nasty pitching with guys who can plain hit and outscoring teams big time. It’s time to let er rip just before the midseason break.

GO TIGERS!

It’s always hard to lose a one run game, too many “what-if’s” and such, and “if only’s”. Polanco homers and Leyland is a genius. ChiSox had all kinds of things go right last year, Geof Blum homer, Podsednik homer, O. Hernandez gets out of bases loaded 0 outs jam. You need that kind of stuff to win chamionships, all the little moves have to go right. Is it going to happen for the Tigers? Maybe not this year, maybe so, it’s so hard to tell with so much more to go. But I like their chances with Leyland at the helm.

Well i think the Brewers have as much chance of winning the division as the Cubs do.
