Seay out, Ledezma in
After the game, the Tigers called up Wilfredo Ledezma from Triple-A Toledo and designated Bobby Seay for assignment. Ledezma will be used out of the bullpen, most likely as a combination situational lefty and long reliever depending on what they need.

how about jones out too?!!

Nice to see Brandon Inge swing the bat like he did today. I still think he should be able to hit 260 or 270 and still drive in 75 or 80 runs, I like his defense, even though I have been told he makes too many errors. he is a very key cog in this machine. Shelton is also playing good D at the other corner and I hope he will be able to get untracked at the plate soon. If he does this will be a very formidable lineup.
Nice move in bringing in Ledezma at this point. I think he is gonna work out better than BS
This was a very good move. It probably should have happened a little sooner but we want to make sure of Ledezma. He should fit somewhere between Colon and Zumaya I should think. I’d say Leyland will use him in the best possible way. Number one would be removing TJ from longer than 3 out situations. People hit his pitches and we want them to hit them at defenders. When they don’t things happen. On the bright side with TJ, he throws strikes and they have to hit the ball. He just needs to keep it to 1 hit per 3 outs.
I think BI is terrific at 3B. Many of his errors have come on easy plays that we expect him to eat up. I for one love to watch him field his position. I am very surprised when he doesn’t get an assist on a ball he fields. I watch them all and I can’t think of a one that’s any better over the long haul. He has great range and has made some fantastic plays. I just hope he can raise his average a little. He hasn’t had a real hot streak as yet so maybe the best is yet to come.
The more I see of Shelton the more I wonder what’s happened to him. I have concluded that the pitchers have gotten wiser, which means that Big Red will have to get wiser too. In regard to his D, he does pretty well but would like to see him complete more of the plays at first rather than tossing the ball a short distance to the pitcher. The risks increase when he does that but so far so good. Not much to complain about in the field. While he’s getting wiser it wouldn’t hurt to see a little more of Carlos and Pudge at first.
I like it with DY gone, seems to offer a lot more choices. One thing I’d like to see is Logan’s speed somewhere. Probably won’t happen though.
Good series for the Tigers. Important for them to keep it rolling at less-than-strong opponents. Inge and Shelton are frustrating at times but their “d” is important right now too. Wow!! Eight homers today? The pitching rotation is great. A little inconsistant in the pen though. Keep it going Tigs.
