Day off for Shelton

Carlos Guillen will start at first base Tuesday while Chris Shelton gets a day to clear his head. "He’s a little whipped right now," Leyland said. "I feel bad for him." Guillen, by the way, hasn’t played at shortstop since Friday’s series opener at Toronto.

Monroe is back on the bench for now. He still felt his ankle trying to hit Monday, and he’s definitely not ready to play in the field

I like Chris Shelton alot! But, I really think he is trying too hard. At times, he is swinging himself almost off his feet in the batter’s box. Chris, forget about the power numbers and hit the ball up the middle……..

I think Chris Shelton needs to sit for a while. He could have just won the game by getting a base hit and then he struck out looking. He is 0 for 11 in Milwaukee, so why isn’t Leyland at least putting in a pinch hitter for him?

Don’t they have anyone in the minors who could play 1st base?
