Rotation change

The other shoe fell with news of Mike Maroth’s injury. Zach Miner will start Sunday instead of Roman Colon, who will work out of the bullpen from now on. Leyland wouldn’t commit to Miner beyond a couple starts, but if someone else gets a shot, it looks like the next guy would come from the Minors.

Also, Chris Shelton has this game off after struggling the last few games. Carlos Guillen is starting at first base.

Glad to hear about the pitching change.
Comments yesterday re the wind over the Yankees:

Verlander is good, no question, but he is also scary. Once he starts getting tagged a bit he isn’t able to recover his composure. I expect we will see this change by the end of the year.

I know we wond and all but I can’t figure out for the life of me why Pudge stayed at 2nd base on Mags’ game tying single. That throw went to the plate from right field, was well over the cut-off man and was bobbled by Poasada. He should have been at third with 1 out. I hope in the glow of victory Leyland remembers to point this out. Those kinds of base-running mistakes can cost ball games.

In the name of all that’s good and Holy, what else can go wrong….. Let me ponder…. Hmmmmm,

I feel bad for Maroth, he was having a great season so far. Also for the tigers, im very happy they avoided the sweep, it would have been another thing those yankee fans would yell at me for at Shea every night….Hey We Swept the best team in baseball!! Who cares. I enjoy reading your blog and come leave a comment or two on mine when you get a chance.
